Our daughter had spent time here and suggested this charming, authentic Masseria. It’s surrounded by olive groves, a few miles from the main road, and felt like a lovely place to slow down. Marco welcomed us and showed us our room, which looked over the pool built around an old olive tree. After our swim, Alessio, the reception manager, showed us the breakfast room, terrace, and barn, where you can read in the shade. Some of the Masseria’s living and private rooms have been refurbished but are kept for the owner or special events. Breakfast was great, and you can order drinks. We also got good suggestions for places to eat in Lecce. Kalu Beach is a trendy beach about 15 minutes away. Make sure to arrive in daylight, as the Masseria is set back from the main road.

The people here are so caring, and the Masseria Caretti Grande feels like a dream. I was won over by the delicate mix of architecture and decor. It’s a great place to unwind and dream, with the beach not far away by car. I hope to come back.

We stayed here for the first night of our Puglia trip and found it a lovely countryside retreat. The rooms were comfortable and really nice, and the staff welcomed us so graciously.

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was delicious. It’s a nice place in a convenient spot between the north and south of Puglia. The bathroom was a bit damp, though, and when the window was shut there was an unpleasant smell.

I don’t trust this property. The photos they post don’t reflect how it is now. As others have said, there are dogs and a cat living on the property, and the place is too old to be as luxurious as they claim. I wouldn’t spend a dime here. Choose somewhere else. Bad ethics.
