The one thing I'd give a 5 for is access to the beach and the private spot by the shore. I don't understand the high ratings otherwise. The breakfast was very limited, and it wasn't because of coronavirus restrictions: other places in the same area served us much better breakfasts with more choice. The room was quite small, though it did have a nice little balcony and lake view. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and the bedsheets and towels felt rough and scratchy. Sleeping there wasn't pleasant. As a cat lover, I did like that they have a cat.

The view and lake are lovely, and the hotel itself is nice, with a lift and plenty of breakfast. But there was no body wash. After one day, the towels hadn't been changed and no extra toilet paper had been added.

The rooms are good, with great views, probably some of the best across the whole lake. Breakfast is okay, though it's not the hotel's strong point. It can be expensive, though.

It felt like time had stopped, the sort of Italy you hope to find. The people were lovely, and sitting with a glass of wine overlooking the lake was a treat. The old-fashioned rooms are a little noisy, but it didn't bother me!

We had a hot night because there was no air conditioning and no mosquito screens on the windows, with temperatures between 25 and 35°C. That's why I'd give it four stars. As far as we could tell, it's the only real waterfront hotel on the east side of Lago Maggiore. The airport is very close, but the place still feels a thousand kilometers away in the best way. This is real Italy: drive through the hills, leave the usual route, and take the narrow lanes to find this gem.
