B&B La Civetta

The view across Lake Maggiore to the mountains was great, and the price was very good for what we got. The rooms were lovely, and breakfast was good. We got helpful suggestions for places to visit and restaurants too. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely stay here again.

Roberta had plenty of good ideas for things to do and places to eat, and breakfast was excellent every day. We felt really looked after, enjoyed some lovely conversations with the family, and loved the beautiful view over Lake Maggiore. We'd be glad to return again and again.

The peaceful setting and all the greenery make this a relaxing place, with a fantastic lake view and climate. Staying with Roberta feels like being welcomed into the family, and the greeting is both warm and professional. The rooms are individually styled and very well looked after. It's convenient for Laveno and the shores of Lake Maggiore and Lake Monate, and Switzerland is also close enough to be of real interest.

The hill is steep, so walking or biking back up can be quite a workout. Apart from that, this is a lovely, well-kept B&B. My room was clean and had its own terrace looking out at the lake, though it wasn't luxurious. The owner was friendly and helpful, bringing fresh rolls each morning and offering tips for outings.
