Passion House

The check-in was not done in the usual way, and I'm not even sure that was legal. The photos don't resemble the room we were given. It was filthy, moldy, and so broken down that even getting into the shower made me feel sick. The floorboards were lifting. Contact the local health authority. I'm speechless, and this place deserves to close immediately. It only gets one star because otherwise I couldn't post this review.

The shower was cold, so I barely had time to get wet before giving up on washing. In winter, blankets are essential, even wool ones, and little details matter to me. The shower shutters and windows also need fixing, and the cleaning could be better. It wasn't horribly dirty, but it wasn't great either. We expected somewhere a bit better, though it was still nice overall. Honestly, for a bed like this I'd ask 30 per couple. 45 isn't worth it.

The staff were helpful and friendly, but I found the place deeply uncomfortable. Breakfast was like tea in the desert, and there's no elevator to the second floor. The bathroom is outside the room and so cramped that you'd need to be skinny to use it, or you'd be stuck in the dark. The building is part of an occupied apartment block in a neighborhood that felt like Kabul. Everything seemed run down: outlets came loose when used, and the air conditioning was just a fan. The furniture looked like it belonged in a 19th-century, pre-industrial London neighborhood. The balcony looked out onto a series of sub-Saharan families, definitely exotic! For over €50 a night, I'd pay at most €10 and ask for the rest back. Highly discouraged. As a couple, your libido will be ruined and you could end up divorced. Hell could be more comfortable.

We left early because the place was a horror, and we never met the owner in person, only spoke by phone. There was no sign, and it was in an apartment building with no garden. The photos didn't match what we found. Inside, it was dirty, with a filthy bathroom, hair in the shower and sink, dirty floors, and loose wires. Hospitality was nonexistent. There were mosquitoes squashed on the wall, maybe they were part of the decor. We even had breakfast at a nearby Chinese bar, which was spotless. Passion House isn't a B&B, and I really don't recommend it.
