E Poi....Ravello

The hot tub was only lukewarm, and the host discouraged us from using it, so the hot tub listing felt misleading. At arrival, the host asked for the city tax straight away, and I got two emails about paying it right away too. It made me think some guests might have left angry about the place and refused to pay, though I can't know that for sure. The lobby smelled strongly of mold and mustiness, and I worried about breathing that air. In the shower, the holder was loose so I had to keep holding the attachment, while water sprayed through the screwed areas of the broken wall fixture. The water barely got hot. Breakfast started at 8:30 and was a woman in a bad mood asking about espresso and how we wanted our eggs, followed by old cold cuts and pastries. It was the bare minimum, with no food if you wanted an early start or had to leave early on your last morning. The rooms are right over a loud, busy, dangerous road. The noise bounced off the concrete walls and kept us awake most of the night; it was much louder than busy streets where I'd stayed in Florence/Rome. Huge trucks and tour buses passed within about 1/2 meter of the front door by a blind corner, and walking there felt dangerous. This is nowhere near Ravello town, it’s basically part of Minori. I don't believe the positive reviews represent the place accurately, and some seem fabricated. If you have a car, parking is €20 a night, and even pulling into the narrow street by the blind corner felt dangerous. Reaching Ravello meant a hike up 1500 stairs with 400 meters of elevation change, driving and paying to park, or taking a prohibitively expensive taxi each way. The buses from Minori were totally full every time, so they weren't an option. Look for somewhere in Ravello itself above the coast. I hope you find a better place to stay.

This was one of my favorite vacation stays. The B&B was beautiful, the breakfast delicious, and the views were worth a million dollars. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the value was great. It's close to everything along the Amalfi Coast, and I'd absolutely stay again.

The views were amazing, the breakfast was good, and the hostess deserves 5 stars. There’s a garage and the bus stop is conveniently close. It’s a great base if you want to stay around Minori or along the path, with the ferry terminal just a few minutes' walk away.

The owners are so gracious, and the rooms are clean, spacious and welcoming. It's a magical place to reconnect with nature and meet new friends. If you ask, the owners will cook a wonderful dinner. Ours was one of the most memorable culinary and personal experiences, and I'll certainly go back.
