Villa Mariella Pittorino B&B

Leni has a lovely charm, and getting around the island from here was easy. We really enjoyed the terrace and thought the rooms were fantastic. Carlo and Mariella made us feel so welcome. It’s a lovely house, and we had a wonderful stay.

The sea-view terrace was a nice spot, and the place is right by the Leni bus stop. We got a very warm welcome, with coffee, juice, and information about Salina. The furniture, TV, and bathroom all feel quite old, though. The roof over the bed area is very low, fine only if you're under 1.5 meters. There were also several extra charges for gas, electricity, water, final cleaning, and towels. We didn't even cook, but gas still cost 2 euros, and the extras came to 46.90 for two nights. The water smelled, though I don't know if it's like that elsewhere on the island. We didn't use the shower, but were surprised to be charged for 1 m3 of water at 2.50 euros.

From the moment Mr. Carlo picked us up by car at Salina Rinella port, Villa Pittorino felt like a family home. We spent five days there in July, and Mrs. Mariella welcomed us with such warmth, explaining the lovely things to see around Salina. Carlotta was just as kind and helpful, always making sure we had what we needed. We felt part of the family. Saying goodbye to Salina, especially Villa Pittorino, was hard, and we're sure we'll be back soon. Thank you for those wonderful days together.

The owners were kind and helpful, and the parking was convenient. The villa is beautiful and has potential, though my room had dated furniture and wasn't especially clean. It was reasonably priced for the season. I didn't see the other rooms, so I can only hope they're more up to date. A few changes, like replacing some furniture and clearing out the junk, could make the rooms feel welcoming and clean. And the island itself is gorgeous 😊
