Hotel Riviera

Hello. I had a similar issue with the booking, but the reception team were understanding and handled it in a very professional, humane way. They offered me a lower rate for a room that was bigger than my original booking, even though the situation wasn't their fault. Seeing the hotel's location and the conditions they offered, I realized the initial price had been fake. All the best to Mr Piero and his colleagues!

The room was cozy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly during the hot weather. The hotel is clean, nicely decorated and has a charm of its own. I only took off a star for the damaged toilet flush and peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. They fixed the flush quickly after we reported it, and neither issue really affected our comfort or the stay overall. I'd happily come back.

I booked this hotel four months ahead for my yearly Venice trip, drawn by the patio photos and Venetian charm. I was so excited to be back in Lido, but my room on the second floor at the back was noisy, with a bar right outside. There was no patio or ocean view, which I understood, but the noise was worse than sleeping in the hostel with drunken teenagers where I'd stayed a few days earlier. I'm an easy sleeper, nearly able to sleep standing up on a bus, and I slept through the first day. On day two, it sounded like a party next door. When I went down to ask for help, the staff said the music wasn't even loud. Sure, the lobby was quieter than my room. I asked for earplugs and went back upstairs, then went down again to request a room change. The staff member still wanted to check whether I was overreacting. The replacement room had a broken AC and still no ocean view, but at least I could sleep. They said they knew about the noise problem. Why give that room to a guest if they know about it? A hotel should at least let people sleep. I'm really upset by what happened.

The rooms and management were really poor, and the coffee was burnt. The reception staff were attentive, though.
