The setting and pool really are lovely, but the service made this a terrible stay. We were the only couple doing the B&B, yet breakfast was usually just coffee and a croissant. After a wedding, we got leftover cake and pastries. The pool seemed geared toward locals paying 10 euros, who got priority for umbrellas and chairs; we were even told one umbrella was reserved when we tried to sit there. The grounds are stunning, but the new owners, who had taken over about four months earlier, seemed unprepared to run the place. I visit Limbadi almost every year to see my parents and have stayed in all the local places, so this was especially disappointing. Cali Cali is an option, or better still Nicotera Marina. Basic comforts were a problem too. The towels were stiff and worn, and when we left the A/C and bathroom light on so we wouldn't return to a dark room late at night, they complained. In nearly 100-degree heat, the cleaning lady would switch off the A/C and open the unscreened windows, leaving the room hot and full of flies. The A/C also stopped working for two days before they moved us to another room. One morning the water was off because they needed the pressure for watering the grapevines and olive trees, so don't count on water early. Avoid this place if you expect normal basic amenities.
