Hotel Garda Bellevue

We really enjoyed our time here and would happily come back. The service was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and cleaned every day, and there’s a wonderful view over the lake.

It’s a great spot, close to the water and the town centre, with lovely views. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was a good size, with a spacious bathroom and shower and nice amenities. Breakfast was delicious, and the pool is large with lots of seating around it. A very nice stay!

The staff were polite, friendly, and very professional, especially in the bar, dining room, and housekeeping. The food was excellent, and the evening meal was superb, so I’d recommend half-board. Just get a slice of cake early, as the German guests seemed to take them all. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a minimart, sunbathing areas, several bars, and a wellness centre with a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. Both pools were freezing, though. There wasn’t much evening entertainment during our week, just a singer on one night. We’d asked for twin beds and a lake view, but were given a large family apartment with a double bed and sofa bed. The lake view was partly over the local road, so in essence we did get what we asked for. The room was clean, spacious, and very nice, with an excellent bathroom and shower, kettle, fridge, sink, kitchen utensils, breakfast bar, air conditioning, and TV. The air conditioning was awkward to operate, with no instructions. The TV had no English channels, and Netflix and similar services were in German or Italian. We raised this with reception several times, but they couldn’t fix it. The hotel isn’t right on the lakeshore. There’s a long but not steep hill to walk down to the shore. The main thing that could be improved is the lack of information, especially for British guests. Reception could be vague at times and had trouble understanding what we needed, though they were always polite.

We booked a lake-view room, but got a terrace looking at the ground and chairs, plus a building, with only about 10% of the lake visible. When we went to reception to sort it out, the man wasn’t friendly and started shouting, calling us liars and saying there was no building. Our one-year-old was there while he yelled and spoke loudly, instead of showing even basic kindness or respect. I’d never recommend a place that treats its customers this way.
