I’d give it about 2.5 stars, rather than three. The house itself is lovely, and the lady hosting us was warm and welcoming. It’s around a 10-minute drive from the center. The main problem was cleanliness. The living room had a strong dog smell, and although I love animals, I wasn’t comfortable with two cats and a dog climbing on the tables, or the dog getting on the couch. With proper cleaning, I think it could be four stars for the price.

The best part was the big garden, where you could grill or just relax. The house has plenty of space and a picturesque view from its high spot on the island, but the garden itself was lovely and poorly maintained. Getting there without a vehicle was really difficult, even though it was listed as close to the center. Inside, there was a moldy smell, and the drawers, cupboards, closets, and bathrooms all seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time. We even found small animals in the sheets. There was no washing machine, broom, or other utensils. For what we paid, it was VERY poor value.

It's a shame, because a bit more care could make a difference. The location and the view are delightful, but the upkeep and cleanliness were seriously lacking. Our queen-size bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the room smelled damp. I had to make up the extra bed myself, and it had dust balls all over it.

The view from this fantastic location was brilliant, and the cottages look great. We stayed in the main house, though, and it smelled like cat or dog pee. Roberta was very friendly. Breakfast was fine, nothing special either way, but eating with the other guests around a big table with a view was enjoyable.
