The building is a beautiful former convent, converted around a central courtyard where summer breakfasts are served. It stands on the hill inside Longiano’s castle walls, and the setting is peaceful apart from the church bells and birdsong. If those sounds bother you, close the shutters and windows at night. We first stayed at Corte dei Turchi in 2016, and now choose it every time we return to Emilia Romagna to see friends. It’s a lovely place and a handy base for exploring the region. Massimo and the team give personal service and still remember us, even when years pass between visits.
