We came back to Cocomeraio for a second stay and had another wonderful time. The peaceful place among the olive trees is clean and comfortable, with lovely views of the region from the windows, and the hosts are lovely too. There are plenty of towns and sights within easy reach, including Florence, Siena, Arezzo, San Giovanni, and the Chianti wine region. We also found great walks in the surrounding countryside and picked chestnuts along the way. I'd recommend it to anyone after a quiet, comfortable Tuscan farm stay.

Our host really went out of their way to make us comfortable, even helping us sort out some transport problems. We had a fantastic stay in this rustic, quaint villa, surrounded by olive trees and lovely views across the area.

There’s room for a big group in this spacious country house. It sits in a lovely rural area along a good road, with several attractions on the way and Arezzo not far away.

I’ll always treasure this cooking class and meal with our group of five at Cocomeraio. Chef Annamaria taught us to make pasta and ravioli in a lovely, intimate setting, both indoors and outside. She was a sweet, professional teacher, and the class was fun and informative. While our pasta cooked, she brought out antipastas she’d prepared earlier, then served the meal we’d made, followed by her delicious tiramisu, chilled overnight. It was a slow, enjoyable Italian dining experience, and I’m grateful my son arranged it for us. We only came for the four-hour cooking class and meal, so I can’t rate the rooms.

The warm welcome at Chef Anna Maria’s farm set the tone for the whole evening. Sandra had made booking the “Learn How to Cook Like a Tuscan” experience through Cocomeraio Toscana easy from start to finish, and her directions got us there without trouble. Anna Maria greeted us with waves and a big smile, then welcomed us with plenty of aperitivos and Prosecco before we got started in her lovely outdoor kitchen. Everyone had their own station, and Anna Maria showed us how to knead, roll, and prepare dough for two kinds of pasta. We made ravioli with her spinach, herb, and olive oil filling, plus tagliatelle, which was later served with local Tuscan beef. She picked fresh herbs from her garden and introduced us to her cat, chickens, and geese. We used the geese's eggs for the pasta. The whole thing felt like visiting her home, not being customers. Dinner was served at a beautifully set table and had that warm, intimate feeling of eating at an Italian grandmother's house. We had our handmade pasta, local Tuscan wine, which I believe was Chianti, tiramisu, and espresso. Anna Maria mainly speaks Italian, but she used a translation app to make sure everyone could follow along. She also shared a heartfelt moment with my mother and her friend that none of us will forget. This was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Tuscany, and our group will cherish it. If you're in the region, make time to meet Chef Anna Maria and learn to cook like a Tuscan, with real warmth and hospitality.
