Albergo Celide

We didn’t get a chance to try the spa, so I can’t say how it is, though I’m sure it would be great. The hotel is a lovely little place just outside Lucca’s walls, and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. I can’t think of anything bad to say. We hope to come back.

The shower leaked, and water ran onto the carpet just outside it. That needs looking at before it damages an otherwise well-equipped room. Apart from that, we had a pleasant surprise: a clean hotel, a comfortable bed, and welcoming, professional staff. Breakfast was included and lovely. Having stayed here, I can confirm the spot just outside the city walls is perfectly placed. Grazie mille!

They upgraded us to a king bed without us asking, since it was low season. Our golden retriever was welcome, though the hotel says larger dogs might not be accepted. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was good, and private parking was easy. The hotel sits right outside the city walls, about a 5 minute walk from an entrance. Excellent stay.

We’ve stayed at Albergo several times, and when we planned our destination wedding in Lucca, we recommended it to our guests coming from the U.S. They welcomed our family and friends and made our own stays feel warm and easy. The location is excellent, just outside the Lucca wall, and the rooms are great for a reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent, with great service. Matteo at the front desk deserves a special mention: throughout our planning he was incredibly attentive, welcomed our guests generously, and made sure they received excellent hospitality. Thank you, Albergo!
