The garden is lovely and large, the pool is fantastic, and the views over Viareggio and the sea are magnificent. We also enjoyed the patio and stone barbecue, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The village neighbors were friendly, and it was easy to chat with them in Italian. The house has plenty of charm and vintage pieces, though its authentic, old-fashioned furnishings may not suit everyone. Small windows leave the kitchen and living room quite dark. Getting there in a regular car was a problem. The underside scraped on the raised crest of the driveway, and it scraped again at the parking area, even with the car unloaded. An SUV would be a better fit.

Borgo Bucatra in Chiatri has lovely spacious rooms, a modern kitchen, and a beautiful garden with a pool. The setting is gorgeous, with stunning views. A wonderful spot for a stay in Tuscany.
