It’s just a few minutes’ walk through the city walls to the heart of the old town, and this B&B is conveniently placed just outside them to the north. Ada, the mother, and her daughter Valentina run it, and the friendly service and cleanliness are real highlights. The rooms are basic but have what you need, including air conditioning, a well equipped and very clean en suite shower room, and an adequate breakfast. In the recent dreadful heat, the air conditioning was a blessed relief. There are teabags, but no kettle, just a coffee machine and microwave. If you arrive by car, parking on the surrounding streets can be a bit tricky depending on the time, and will probably cost money. Good value.

The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms clean, and the air conditioning works well. Breakfast is good and the internet connection is good too. You’re very close to the wall of Lucca’s fortress, so the main attractions are within walking distance. Parking can be difficult, but with some patience and help from the owner, it’s manageable.

It’s in a great spot and kept simple and clean. It feels more like renting rooms than staying at a B&B, but I guess that’s how Italian hospitality works.

The manager was really kind and helpful. We had a quiet, cool night thanks to the air conditioning and the great windows. We were across from Porta Maria, and once the windows were shut, the outside noise stayed out.

I’ve stayed here several times and plan to keep coming back. The owner is so welcoming, always smiling and ready with a kind word, and the breakfast is generous. The rooms are spacious, spotless and have every comfort. It’s just steps from the centre of Lucca, with convenient parking at any hour. Highly recommend it, you won’t regret staying here.
