We really appreciated the hospitality. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with a view over the little square. Cafés and excellent restaurants are close by, along with the statue of the late, great Maestro Giacomo Puccini.

Art sits alongside traditional trattorias and some truly innovative places to eat in this distinctive square. The seated "maestro" statue is only a few meters from the Church of San Michele. It's a must-see in Lucca, with music and the story of an original figure, often more familiar to foreigners than to us.

Lucca is a beautiful city, and this spot is both historically important and popular without being overcrowded.
