B&B Villa Corte Degli Dei

The staff were so helpful, especially Georgia, whose friendly manner was wonderful, and Piedro, a perfect gentleman. We’ll be back. The grounds and pool were spotless and peaceful, breakfast was plentiful, and the daytime snacks were excellent. It’s a beautiful place to stay, with ornate rooms.

We used the hotel as a base for day trips to Pisa, Cinque Terre, and a winery outside Lucca, and also rented bikes to ride along Lucca’s walls. It’s only a 12-minute walk from the walls, with the train station, shops, restaurants, and the city close by, yet the countryside setting feels quiet and peaceful. The restored medieval B&B is full of character, with a great pool, good amenities, and a tasty breakfast. Staff were friendly, eager to help, and clearly cared about our stay. We spent four nights here, and the sunsets were unbelievable. Staying somewhere with such a distinctive style was a real highlight.

The theme was cool, and the staff were really friendly, though service took a little while. Our attic room got a bit warm, but the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was a letdown: by the time we arrived, the scrambled eggs were starting to turn green.

The main issue was how thin the walls were. We could hear people in the neighboring rooms, though I understand that may be part of preserving the rooms’ distinctive style. Apart from that, we were very happy with our stay. It’s a great place for a vacation, and everyone we met was kind and ready to help.
