Villa Pedone

The countryside around Villa Pedone is beautiful, and the villa itself is absolutely lovely. Duccio was kind and very helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and am so glad I came across this place.

The only letdown for us was breakfast, which could use more variety. Otherwise, the villa had loads of character, with rooms in a typical Tuscan style and a lovely garden on a hilltop with spectacular views. The house looked just as it did on the website, maybe even better. We had such a great family stay for one night and wished we could have stayed longer.

I’d suggest putting a bottle of water in the room for arrivals. Breakfast was a bit scant, with supermarket ham in packets. In the ham capital of the world, a few slices of the local ham would be amazing. Those are small personal gripes, though, and I’d still highly recommend this pretty, quaint hotel in the hills of Lucca. The venue is picturesque, the service excellent, and the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds.

Villa Pedone is tucked into peaceful, pretty hills a short drive from Lucca. Our host was friendly and had useful suggestions for visiting the city and finding local restaurants. We stayed for three nights after Christmas, and the spacious rooms were warm and very comfortable. The villa is beautiful, with sitting spots where you can relax with a book. Breakfast is traditional Italian, and coffee and tea are available all day. There’s also a bar with an honesty system, though we didn’t use it.
