La Maison Rosa Stella

The triple-bed setup was an original idea and surprisingly comfortable, and the hostess was very kind. But the cleanliness was nowhere near good enough. The toilet and bin were dirty, the toilet brush looked awful, and there were piles of dust under the bed and furniture that got stirred around as soon as we moved things. I can't tell whether the floor had been cleaned, because my son took off his shoes as soon as we came in and his socks turned black right away. There was a used toilet paper roll in the bathroom and a teaspoon stained with coffee. I opened a drawer by mistake and found a wire, hair, and lots of dust inside. The bedspread was very dirty, and the towels and sheets were torn. There were other guests, so I don't know whether their rooms were the same, but ours was definitely not as the cleanliness comments suggested. Such a shame.

With the B&B right in the center, it was a pleasure to stay there and felt like home. Our room had a very nice bathroom and everything we needed. Shops were close by, so it was easy to shop while still being able to walk everywhere. My dog was comfortable there with us, too.

The owner was kind and friendly, and the location is excellent, right in the heart of Lucera. My room was spacious, traditional, and cleaned every day. The only drawback was the air conditioning: it only worked while someone was in the room, so we really felt the August heat when we arrived in the evening. Recommended.

The Duomo is just a short walk away, which made it easy to explore Lucera's historic center on foot. The bed and breakfast feels refined, and the room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished with elegant floral details.
