During our tour of Monte Rosa, this made a fantastic stop. The friendly, attentive staff gave us a very warm welcome and were keen to tell us about local specialties. Our room was practical, and handily located near the cable car to Monte Moro. Thanks again!

The staff in the dining room were kind, but the food was a big disappointment. There was no tomato sauce on the menu, so our child couldn’t have pasta with sauce. We swapped it for pesto, which was very greasy and sour, and the pasta itself was tough and undercooked. The cured meats were stale, with rancid salami, and the cheeses were barely acceptable. The bread was the only good thing. There are plenty of places to eat, and we picked the worst one. Never again!

The views at the foot of Monte Rosa are spectacular, and the location is excellent. Staff and reception went out of their way to help with every need, even pushing our car into the parking lot through the snow. The kids didn’t like the evening menu, so they made them buttered pasta, which they enjoyed. Breakfast was a generous buffet, with bar service for cappuccino, coffee, and hot milk, all as expected. Since the kids didn’t finish their dinner, we were charged a discounted rate at checkout rather than the full price, which doesn’t always happen. I’ll definitely come back. A few things could be better: the evening menu had limited choices, so there might not be an alternative if you don’t like what’s offered. Some of the decor and furnishings clearly hadn’t been maintained in a while. The rooms aren’t soundproof, and you can hear people shouting or small children crying. With a building made mostly of wood years ago, there isn’t much they can do about that. Still, we had a great weekend.

The location was the one real plus. Our small, outdated room had no mirror, and when we arrived around 3:30 PM the bed wasn’t made. They’d forgotten both the bed linen and towels. At least the room was clean. The door lock was very faulty, and there were no nightlights in the hallway or on the stairs. The hotel shut at 11 PM, so it wasn’t possible to go in or out.
