We travelled to Italy for the Olympics and tried skiing in Madonna Di Campiglio for the first time. What a magical, gorgeous town. From the Ariston it was easy to reach the shops, restaurants and ski slopes, with a 150m or 200m walk to a gondola for the surrounding mountains. After skiing, we made regular use of the peaceful sauna and pool, and the boot room was handy for storing skis and equipment. Our room was newly renovated, clean and cozy, with a view of the mountains and slopes. Breakfast came with the stay, offered a good selection that was constantly replenished, and we had a table reserved each day. We ate at the hotel most evenings too. The local dishes and appetiser buffet bar were amazing. The owners were wonderful, friendly and helpful. They know their wine and took time to explain the menu and which wines would pair well with our meal. It felt like a warmly run family hotel. We’ll be back and have recommended it to everyone we know.

The location and views are lovely, with easy little walks around the village and plenty of shops and bars for picking up food before a hike. Most hikes also had restaurants along the way for lunch. The hotel food is good and gives the place a cozy, warm mountain feel, like stepping back in time. It’s not a 5-star restaurant meal, but that’s not what you should expect from a hotel that brings warmth to your vacation. Our room was quite nice, with two separate beds, a good shower, a pleasant bathroom and a small fridge. Service was friendly, good, and the staff spoke English well. They had useful advice about hikes and what to do in different weather. The spa was nice too: the pool could be switched into one big bubble bath, and there was a sauna for unwinding after long hikes. A very good hotel to stay in.
