We were unsure about booking because Casa Cook was new, but looking into the brand convinced us, and we’re glad we went. The hotel is beautifully and tastefully designed, and we loved our Summit Suite. The large sofa bed was well worth having for relaxing in the evenings. The staff were very attentive. It had only been open for a couple of months, so there might have been teething problems, but we didn’t run into any. It’s right in the centre of madonna and a short walk from all the ski lifts. Breakfast was delicious every day, and we got a great price on a last-minute vacation. We hope it’ll be just as affordable when we return. Before booking, we found some of the reviews about having to carry your own bags pretty funny, given there are only about 4 steps to the hotel and then a lift to the room. The staff may have seen those reviews, because they offered to carry our bags at least 5 times during check-in. We’ll definitely be back!

We picked the hotel because it had just been renovated. The location is good, right in town and close to the lifts. I liked the main room’s modern alpine decor, and it felt cozy, with enough storage to keep things tidy. I made good use of the many hooks by the door for ski clothes. We were a group of friends, so each of us booked a room because we weren’t sure whether the toilet and shower were open to the room. The toilet has a sliding door, but the shower is visible from the room. A curtain can be pulled from the closet to cover the sink and shower, though the bathroom layout is annoying even for couples or adults. For skiing, there’s a shared ski room with ski hooks and boot warmers, not individual lockers like we were used to. The luxury hotel also had no shampoo or conditioner. I hated the products provided, they smelled like something your grandmother would use. The restaurant and breakfast team deserve a lot of praise. They went out of their way to remember our orders and dietary restrictions, and Josef was easily the best. Reception was much less accommodating, even with 8 rooms booked. Different staff gave us different checkout times and different answers about whether we could extend. They also double charged one of our friends, so check your bill carefully.

The ski pass discount was another missed opportunity. Only when we arrived did we learn we might have had 20-35% off if we’d asked five days earlier. The hotel said it usually emails that information, but we never received anything. Their answer was, “It’s too late now.” There was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower either. Casa Cook Madonna di Campiglio looks beautiful from the outside, but underneath it was disappointing enough that we cut our ski trip short and are leaving early. Arrival was chaotic: days before, we were told there was no parking, yet several cars were parked out front when we got there. A plastic chain blocked the entrance and there was no staff around. We dragged heavy ski luggage up the stairs while dealing with a police officer. My girlfriend waited 40 minutes for help. Someone briefly showed up and carried one bag, then disappeared. Staff communication was poor. When anyone was around, they often couldn’t explain basic things in English, and our requests seemed to vanish. Breakfast was slow and limited, perfect if you want to miss the morning lifts. At 23:00, the fire alarm went off for about 20 minutes. We came downstairs and were told, “We hope you didn’t come down just because of the fire alarm.” It left us feeling gaslit and too stressed to sleep easily, and ruined our early ski plans. The hotel looks premium, but the service and communication don’t match. We raised the problems with management and expected at least an attempt to fix things or compensate for the loss of value. Nothing. There are much better options in Madonna di Campiglio, so look elsewhere.

The restaurant was the one bright spot: excellent food, outstanding breakfasts, and warm, professional service from the waitstaff and chefs. The hotel also has beautiful design and fresh interiors. But Casa Cook Madonna, which opened 5 December, felt like a soft opening sold at full luxury prices, before it was ready to operate at that level. There’s potential, but the execution isn’t there. Very disappointing. We got no reply for a month after booking. When we arrived, there was no parking, no skipass benefits, no briefing about amenities, and no 24-hour reception, all basic things at this price. The bathroom was missing even basic toiletries, let alone cotton buds or cotton pads. Hot water failed for the entire day despite our reporting it early that morning. We were told the whole hotel was affected, but later found out there were rooms with no problem, which seriously hurt the hotel’s credibility. Reception staff couldn’t help or take responsibility. The sauna and ski-room locks had been removed instead of repaired, another sign that basic infrastructure was failing. On NYE, the manager was dining with guests while operations were still in trouble. Luxury branding, but not luxury service.

The location was excellent, but the hotel never delivered a hotel-level experience. The service and attention to guests were severely lacking, and it felt at best like a 3-star hotel, more like a hostel. Communication was disorganized, and I’d strongly advise avoiding the place until there’s new management. I booked directly on the hotel website about a month ahead. My first invoice was €1,986.97, then five days before arrival I received a payment link for €2,001.97. The email with the link clearly said breakfast was included. I asked about the price difference, but neither email nor staff on site gave a clear or valid explanation. I’d also emailed three times with basic questions about reservations and parking, and only got a response after the third message. Parking added stress. No one was readily available to help park or retrieve the car, and guidance was minimal. Neighbors in the next building were clearly unhappy with hotel guests parking nearby, adding tension and confusion as we arrived. Check-in was chaotic and took over 30 minutes. Nobody offered to help unload our bags, so we made four trips ourselves. The building has just one very small elevator for guests and housekeeping on all floors, so expect a wait or take the stairs. At check-in, we again confirmed breakfast was included. We were told management would check and get back to us that evening. By 8:00 a.m. the next morning, there was still no answer. I left and returned an hour later, only to be told they wouldn’t honor the breakfast inclusion, despite their own email confirming it days earlier. Breakfast itself wasn’t the issue. The lack of accountability and guest-first attitude was. Honoring what they’d confirmed in writing would have been a simple, reasonable fix. Other things added to the poor experience: coffee in the room was never replenished, there was no water in the gym or room, and the sauna was co-ed with no privacy at all. Guests aren’t looked after, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want a hotel that puts guests first.
