We liked it so much that we came back two years in a row. It’s a great family base for skiing, with ski-in, ski-out access and the town centre close by. The windows look out over the village, slopes and mountains. Rooms are lovely and have kitchens with dishwashers, plus ski storage and boot dryers. There’s also a spa with a sauna and a Turkish steam room with aromatherapy.

The chalet is in Campiglio nord, a handy spot for most hikes in the area. I stayed in the largest flat, set up for six, with four of us there at the end of summer. It was spacious, clean and comfortable, with rustic decor and a lovely mountain view. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and TV, and there’s another TV in the living room. The master bedroom is especially big, with a large bed and lots of daylight from wide windows. The living room is darker, but the balcony is roomy enough to sit outside, and the shared terrace with tables and benches gets plenty of afternoon sun. The kitchen is small but well equipped, including a freezer, dishwasher and oven/microwave. Towels were changed during our stay, and the host was available with help and suggestions.

It’s a quiet spot on a dead-end street, just a few steps from the Spinale ski slope and the town centre. The steam room gets hot, and the sauna really does reach 100 deg. Celsius. We had one of the best apartments we’ve ever stayed in, and the owner was very kind and spoke English.

Mrs. Detassis runs her Chalet with so much care, warmth and passion, and that’s why I’m giving it five stars. The place has a lovely family history that’s worth hearing from the owner herself. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😘😘
