Maiori Antica

The manager eventually got us a room, and it was pleasant, though small. We’d booked for five, but it only slept four. Before that, after arriving at 19:00 with my wife and four children aged 1 to 8, we got a call saying the host couldn’t accept us. I explained that Airbnb had confirmed our reservation, but she wouldn’t look for a solution. I begged her to help because it was evening, we had nowhere else to go, and the kids were hungry and tired. She didn’t care. The next day, after we’d left, she called to yell that we hadn’t paid. That wasn’t true, since Airbnb processes the payments. A horrible experience. The host was heartless and ruined our vacation. Stay away.

The staff were so sweet and friendly, and breakfast under the lemon tree in the morning was lovely. It’s a very cozy little hotel. I recommend staying here!

Luckily, Atletico Madrid beat Bayern Munich that night, so it didn’t end up being my worst experience ever. Still, unless you’re okay with being turned away rudely and without sympathy, stay somewhere else. My Airbnb reservation was confirmed. When my wife, our four young children, and I arrived to check in, the owner called the manager and asked to speak with us. She said the booking wasn’t confirmed and refused to take us, even though Airbnb showed it as confirmed. It was already evening, and I begged her because the kids were hungry and tired. She didn’t care. The manager kindly found us a room for four instead of the one for five we’d booked. We left the next morning. Then the owner called and screamed that we hadn’t paid, even though Airbnb had successfully charged the payment. That’s how horrible the owner was.

The location is good, right by the beach, and the room was nice with good Wi-Fi. Great value, but breakfast was disappointing.
