Hotel Valbruna Inn

They have a locked garage for bikes, which worked well for our one-night stop on an Alpe Adria cycling trip. We were completely satisfied, especially after getting upgraded to a premium room that was far more than two young people needed. It was very spacious, with a terrace looking out over the Julian Alps. The large tub in the room and the beautifully tiled bathroom were lovely extras. Breakfast had lots of fresh baked goods and tasty sweet and savory choices.

The restaurant food was delicious, and the friendly staff made our honeymoon feel special by welcoming us with a bottle of fantastic wine. We also loved the room and warm atmosphere. Such an amazing hotel, definitely worth five stars.

The house feels full of care, and the rooms were really clean with thoughtful little details. I only discovered two days after our stay that the attic is a spa, with saunas, jacuzzis, massage chairs, yoga mats, and a relaxation room. Downstairs there's a piano, guitars, and whiskey, and the staff can tell you about the history. When we arrived late at night, the woman at reception gave us the warmest welcome. The staff kept making us smile and helped with calls and ideas for places to visit. The food is a must, order a bit of everything, including grappa and wine, and ask for the local cheese. The breakfast in the morning was lovely too. The location was perfect for our trip, with good hikes, great restaurants nearby, a crystal-clear little river, apple trees everywhere, local people, and a cheese shop where you could get stuck for ages. The surrounding scenery looks like a painting. It's a wonderful retreat for anyone who loves nature, good food, and interesting cultural history. I can't wait to come back in winter!

The views were amazing, and the heated outdoor jacuzzi was a lovely extra. We slept really well in the comfortable beds, and the hotel was tastefully equipped. Breakfast was superb too. Beautiful place, and we’re already planning to come back!
