I have to give Hotel Alpi one star and leave a negative review after staying three nights last week. There were a few positives: the receptionist was kind and helpful, some waiters were too, and the hotel is close to the main attractions. But the basement used for guest storage was run-down and partly flooded, parking wasn’t adequate for the number of rooms, and the elderly owner was inattentive and interfered with management. Above all, the bill was inflated. I only realized after paying that I’d been charged €20 per day for half board plus drinks, instead of the €14 I was told when I arrived. I complained afterward and haven’t heard anything back. I also checked their website and saw the prices can be even lower, depending on the season. This unfairness has cost them a customer and earned them a negative review.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and having a pool was a big plus. We didn’t have to go down to the pebbly beaches if we didn’t want to. This was our first visit to Malcesine and Hotel Alpi, on my in-laws’ recommendation. It’s very central, so you can walk everywhere. Parking in the olive grove is available, but limited. The breakfast buffet was adequate and typical for a 3-star hotel. The rooms could do with an update, but the air conditioning was excellent and made the 30°C heat bearable at night. Highly recommended!

There’s a lovely calm feel here, with the hotel among olive trees, central but away from traffic. The staff are attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and there’s plenty of parking for cars and motorcycles. Food is exceptionally good: the breakfast buffet and evening salad bar have everything you could want, and dinner offers three choices each for starters, main courses, and desserts, with enough variety for everyone. The sunbathing lawn, pool, large terrace, and great bar make it easy to enjoy peaceful days and evenings. It’s an ideal place for an unforgettable holiday, and we’d love to return.
