Guesthouse Grand View

We spent ten days travelling around Garda lake, and this was our favorite place. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully set up, and the view from the pool is amazing. Breakfast had a great range of fresh food, vegetables, and fruit, plus delicious coffee. Monika, who runs the Guesthouse, was cheerful, kind, and welcoming, and made our stay even nicer. We’d love to come back. Highly recommend if you’re after peace and quiet, with a breathtaking view. 10/10.

We only had one night here, which was a shame because we would’ve gladly stayed longer. The pool area is gorgeous, and the location looks out over lake Garda, about 10 minutes from Malcesine. One driving tip: if you’re heading north to south, the turn onto the road leading to the guesthouse is very sharp and narrow, so you may need to keep going until you find somewhere to turn around.

I haven’t felt this relaxed in a place for a long time. The location is amazing, with beautiful views of lake Garda, and Monika put on a fabulous breakfast. She was brilliant. I’d definitely come back.

The view was amazing, but the infinity pool was freezing and unusable in mid-June. This was the most expensive place we stayed during our trip across Italy, and by far the worst accommodation we’ve ever had. When we arrived after a long flight and a €20, 20-minute taxi ride from the nearest town, nobody greeted us or showed us to our room. We couldn’t use a restroom, wifi, or get refreshments while waiting. The host had gone into town to buy food. When she came back, she was very rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming, and seemed annoyed we were there. It was the worst reception we’ve ever had in hospitality, and made us really uncomfortable. We found out there was no food available at the property, though nobody had told us. Getting dinner meant a €40 round-trip taxi into town. We could have made other plans if we’d been told, or if she’d replied to the email we sent the day before. She’d brought shopping back for breakfast, but didn’t offer us any food. We would have happily given up breakfast to eat that evening. While we waited, we used a socket to charge our phone, and the host angrily pulled it out and told us not to use the plugs. We hadn’t been offered an alternative or even a room yet.
