From the hilltop, we had breathtaking views in every direction, and the setting was peaceful and private. The location also made it convenient to reach many popular places in Tuscany. We spent a wonderful week in June at Villino del Grillo, where the apartment was cozy and clean, with impeccable craftsmanship. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and felt like family almost right away. We plan to stay at Villino del Grillo again on our next trip to Italy.

We'd read the book when we arrived and the earlier TripAdvisor reviews, but they couldn't prepare us for all the pleasures of a week here. Leaving for more adventures elsewhere was a bit of a mixed blessing. Villino del Grillo has so much going for it: a pampering, rustic stay that's still convenient for the San Gimignano area, generous extras, and a delightful family you get to know a little. I've traveled through nearly twenty European countries over a lifetime, often returning and staying at length, and nowhere I've stayed has been more memorable. Very few places come close to the pleasure we had here. If a week in Tuscany could be any better, we don't need to find out. Book early, or someone else may get the chance first.

My husband and I have traveled all over the world, but nowhere compares with our stay at Villino del Grillo. The family who owns it is amazing, gracious, kind, authentic, and helpful in every way. If you're lucky enough to book this farm stay, it will be a fabulous once-in-a-lifetime experience. Mary Anne and Robert Hurst Arizona USA
