Hotel Stella Alpina

It’s a lovely place for a stay with or without kids. The lake and Malcesine are within walking distance, and the rooms are an okay size with good showers. The pool is great and all on one level. Although the hotel is on the road, you don’t hear the traffic. Air conditioning in both bedrooms was nice. Breakfast was simple, and there was bacon, but people took a lot and it wasn’t replenished. The shower gel in the bedroom was empty too. Those little things brought it down to four stars.

Our room was clean, nicely furnished, and looked good. The rooms were great, and free WiFi was available all over the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, buffet style, with lots of different specialities, meats, and pastries. The location wasn’t ideal, far from the city center and nearest lake entrance. Our window faced the lake, but trees completely blocked the view. The staff didn’t speak English very well and didn’t seem very interested in the guests.

The poolside playground was a lovely extra for the kids, and the staff were so polite. It’s a small hotel with amazing views over the lake. Highly recommend it!

The place looked much more updated in person than the old Google photos suggested. Reception, rooms, and outdoor areas had all been refreshed, which surprised us. Breakfast was pretty simple, but it did the job. The open parking was a nice bonus, especially if you have a car you want to look after.
