Panorama Residence Hotel

The room's balcony and lake view were lovely, and the parking was plentiful. The pool area is nice, but in the middle of summer it was busy, with lots of children jumping in and out. We couldn't enjoy it as adults, and each time we saw the heated whirlpool it had 5-10 kids in it. The hotel seems popular with families, so we'd choose somewhere more suited to couples next time. Getting into town meant about a 20-minute walk downhill, then 30-40 minutes back uphill. We paid €20 for a taxi once and used the local shuttle bus during the day, which stops near the entrance. Breakfast had a typical regional continental spread, and the food overall was okay. Dinner portions were tiny, and one dish tasted poor enough that we left half of it. Town would be a better bet for food and price. We expected more for the high price and the way the hotel presents itself. The rooms are very dated and need a refresh. Our air conditioning didn't work the first night, which was uncomfortable, though they fixed it for the second. Other guests said there are newer rooms, but apparently without the same views. Service was uneven. The receptionist was absolutely lovely, but one morning the wait staff forgot a breakfast dish we'd ordered. After 45 minutes, we asked about it and were told, “it’s not coming and the kitchen is now closed”. There was no apology or solution, so we left hungry. We came away disappointed because the stay felt less luxurious than we'd expected. It might still suit families if there's a good deal and the rooms are updated.
