Casa Monte Etna

The owner was friendly and explained everything. It's in a nice setting, and there's plenty to do indoors or around the property: chess, a hangout swimming pool, barbecue area, tennis and volleyball area, a bonfire pit, and more.

You get a lovely, very large garden and a charming chalet that's clean and well furnished. The cats keep watching you with curious, expectant looks. It's a really peaceful spot, and the owner is kind and helpful. A few things could be better, perhaps the bathroom linens and some issues with the fireplace.

I was disappointed. The house could be nice, but it's not well maintained: there was dust everywhere, and a terrible smell came from the drains whenever we turned on the water. The sheets were old and worn. There are only five chairs and some odd plastic stools, and not enough pans. You'll need to shop before settling in, because there isn't much beyond a few things previous guests left behind. Anyone starting this kind of business needs to focus on cleanliness and provide new items, or replace them regularly. I don't recommend the property.

The owner was extremely polite and helpful, and welcomed us with prosecco and delicious cookies. We found the chalet very comfortable and inviting, stocked with everything from kitchen utensils to Sicilian playing cards. There's a huge garden that my dog loved, a volleyball net, a fantastic barbecue, Netflix, and a wonderful fireplace. A delightful place.
