5 Terre Pelagos

The rooms at 5 Terre Pelagos were small and basic, but clean, with a nice bathroom and access to a patio overlooking the water and town square. In a vertical town, the place sits high enough to get a lovely view while still being accessible. A shout-out to the sweet receptionist who helped me with my bags and gave me directions to Il Sogno di Manarola by The First - Luxury Rooms at the top of the hill. That place was dismal.

The family cave room was spacious and comfortable, with a breathtaking view, and the property itself is beautiful, from the decor to the location. But Loris is what made my three-day stay unforgettable. She helped arrange boat trips, got me tickets for the walks between the villages, and shared plenty of local advice so I could make the most of a short visit. After I left, I realized I’d lost something, and she even checked shops around town for me. It wasn’t found, but I was touched by how much effort she made. She made me feel welcome and looked after, and I’ll absolutely come back, in large part because of her. Loris is amazing. Thank you again for everything, and sorry this review took so long. I hope to be back one day.

The fireflies on the shared terrace were magical. We were there for a couple of nights in May, and Loris was an amazing hostess. She recommended what turned out to be the best seafood meal we’ve ever had, then even made the reservation for us. I’d happily recommend staying here. Just be ready for steep hills, as you’ll find throughout all five villages.

We’d visit again in a heartbeat. Loris was especially kind and helpful, sorting out activities, arranging affordable on-site laundry, and helping us deal with travel disruptions caused by a strike. Our room had a very functional AC unit, though we didn’t need to use it, and it was close to everything you’d expect to do in Manarola. 10/10.
