Breakfast was included, and it was delicious. The owner made all the cakes by hand, and we could have as much espresso, cappuccino, latte, water, or juice as we wanted. The two little Dachshund mixes roaming around were a joy if you like dogs. One was black and sensitive around his mouth, so be careful, and the other was brown and white. The owners are a wonderful Italian family and brilliant hosts. We spoke Italian, so I can’t say how much English they speak, though it seemed like very little. Gianpiero knows Toscana well and gave us lots of ideas for food, activities, and sightseeing. We really appreciated his local tips. My boyfriend and I had our first trip together here, and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Il Poggiolo is gorgeous and very well kept, though the dirt road in is a bumpy ride, which is to be expected in the countryside. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we both slept well. The TV’s a bit small, but we didn’t come to Tuscany to watch TV! The walls are a little thin, so maybe put on some background music when using the bathroom, haha. There’s a small fridge, a safe, and a little wardrobe for hanging clothes. We highly recommend Il Poggiolo for a warm welcome, comfortable rooms, and great service in Toscana.

Lots of open garden space and a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast came with plenty of delicious homemade cakes.
