We were very disappointed by Agriturismo La Selvaggia, and I’d urge other travelers to be wary of the positive reviews. The property manager arrived to pick us up in a dirty car, then drove along a dangerous, narrow, winding road that was barely wide enough for one car. The grounds looked neglected, overgrown with weeds and deserted. She said some stairs would take us to our parked car, but there were no signs or directions, and we got completely lost trying to find the way back. Our room smelled strongly of mold, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and we found bugs inside. The place was in poor condition and didn’t feel like an authentic farm stay at all. After seeing this, we told Deborah we would stay one night instead of two. She agreed to refund the second night on the condition that we didn’t leave a negative review, but she didn’t keep her promise. That makes me wonder if positive reviews are being solicited under false pretenses rather than reflecting genuine experiences. This was by far the worst accommodation of our trip. It felt unsafe, uncomfortable and dishonest, and travelers deserve to know what it was like before booking.

The friendly dogs were a nice touch, and the food made the walk worthwhile. We went to the restaurant while staying in Somana; it’s about a ten-minute walk uphill from town. Every course was great, especially the pepper pasta and the fresh vegetable starter. The view was lovely too.

Everything we needed was there, and the food was great. The hosts were very welcoming and kept checking how we were doing. A driver helped us get our luggage to the place. We really enjoyed it, and would recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere quieter and more romantic.

The food was fresh, local and delicious, with generous portions and great service. For the quality and quantity, the price was fantastic. We had a fixed menu during our visit with everything we could want, and more, to eat and drink. It’s a beautiful mountain spot overlooking the lake. Finding it can be a little tricky, so ask for directions ahead of time if needed. We parked at the bottom and walked about ten minutes up the winding path. We’ll be back soon. Thank you!

Angela was such a warm, welcoming host. Every day she offered to pick us up from the parking lot with our stroller. We spent a whole week in the apartments with our son, who was 1.5 years old at the time, and had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and had what we needed, and the view of both lake and mountains was amazing. We also had a good-quality meal at the restaurant, seven courses with wine for just 28 euros per person. Great value. We’d recommend the place!
