Lollo Apartment

The apartment was huge, spotless, and easy to reach on foot from downtown Mantua, with the main sights and shops close by. The owner was especially warm and helpful, which made the stay more enjoyable. I did have two annoyances: a neighbor hammered loudly during the day for two days, and the mattress felt too soft for me. Still, I had a very pleasant stay.

We found the place tidy, very clean, and nicely kept, with minimalist modern furnishings and a few designer touches. It had Wi-Fi, dishes, blankets, towels, hair dryers, and air conditioning, though we didn't use the latter. The ground-floor apartment takes two steps to enter. Piazza Virgiliana is only a few minutes away on foot, and Palazzo Ducale about ten. Parking is roughly 80 meters away and paid except on Sundays. We had trouble getting in because the instructions never arrived by email, but we reached the owner and sorted it out.

Parking was easy enough, less than 100 meters away outside the restricted traffic zone, and only €6.50 for the day. Mantua itself can be seen in 1-2 days, but I'd gladly come back to this lovely place. We spent a cold early March weekend here as a couple, and Lorenzo made us feel at home right away. He's friendly and helpful, and what he offered suited my priorities far better than the competing options. The two-room apartment had everything we could need, from cutlery and appliances to soap, towels, salt, oil, TV, and a sofa, plus a little Mantuan breakfast. It was all stylishly put together, refined and attractive. The double bed was genuinely comfortable, and I slept better than I have in ages. The home sits on a quiet alley close to the historic center. A really special romantic weekend, thank you Lorenzo!
