Il Vecchio e Il Mare B&B Maratea

The staff were very nice, and there’s a large parking area nearby. There’s also a good restaurant on the first floor. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to a really cool public beach or to "porto di Maratea".

Everything feels like a dream: Gloria’s warmth and hospitality, her food, and the rooms.

What a warm welcome for both us and our dog. They greeted our Labrador with a lovely treat, which meant a lot to us, and Gloria was always smiling, attentive and ready to help with suggestions about where to go. This family-run place brings together different generations and talents, with real care in every corner. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely kept, with a simple but lovely design. Downstairs, reception and the beautifully arranged restaurant share the ground floor. Breakfast there was very good, and dinner was fantastic, with excellent fish, seafood and vegetarian choices. A wonderful stay with warm hospitality and delicious food. We highly recommend it.

Gloria’s smile, kindness and helpfulness made us feel right at home, and she really looked after us. The B&B is carefully maintained and has the comforts you’d expect from a hotel, including a hair dryer diffuser, which anyone with curly hair will appreciate. Breakfast was fantastic, homemade and fresh every day. It’s a great base for exploring Maratea and the surrounding area. Thank you, and see you again soon!
