Villa Cheta Hotel & Restaurant

The restaurant was a real highlight, from breakfast through dinner, with a seasonal menu that changes and makes use of fine local ingredients. Villa Cheta feels magical, tucked away in a peaceful area away from the tourist crowds, between mountains and sea, with breathtaking views. Stefania, Piero, Angela, and the whole team were so kind and attentive that we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The rooms, pool, and scenery are beautiful, and the hotel is a tranquil retreat just a short drive from Maratea village and the beaches. The service was impeccable. I can’t recommend this charming boutique hotel enough.

We had a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely consider coming back. The staff were friendly and professional, our room was spotless and had a sea view, and the pool was excellent. About a 10-minute walk away, there’s a lovely beach and a small grocery store, da Ginetto, where you can get marenna to go. Dinners at the hotel restaurant were reasonably priced. If you’re willing to drive to Maratea, there are even more affordable places to eat and a wider choice of food.

The staff were exceptional, always smiling and keen to make our stay memorable. We had dinner at the restaurant twice; one of our meals seemed a little bland, though the other reviews suggest we may be the exception. Villa Cheta is a charming, elegant Italian-style oasis with plenty of history and lovely views across the bay. Our room was comfortable and stylish, and the new pool was fantastic for a dip. You can also take the steps down to the little beach for a swim in the sea.
