Hotel del Sole Resort

We enjoyed our five days here. The staff were friendly and happy to help with requests, including arranging a taxi to Barletta when we booked ahead. Breakfast is included, and you can get straight onto the beach from the hotel. There’s a small extra charge for beach chairs, which felt fair given the hotel’s reasonable price. If you can, upgrade to a sea-view room. The terrace is a lovely place to spend the evenings and watch the sunrise or sunset. It’s also handy to have your own car or rent one.

The photos on the hotel website are very old and don’t show what the place is like now. Carpets in the rooms and hallways are stained, dirty, and worn out, and the curtains were dusty. There was no kettle or glasses, and the fridge didn’t work. Mosquitoes were everywhere. Breakfast was awful, with very little to choose from. Almost nothing was fresh, and there were no eggs, fruit, or vegetables. We paid an extremely high price for a place that surely isn’t a four-star hotel. I’m sharing this so others get an accurate picture of its current condition and don’t get caught out. I’ve attached photos and a video as proof.

The beach was nice, but that’s about the only good thing. The hotel isn’t worth the price. You’re expected to speak Italian because the staff don’t speak German or English. The room floors looked dirty, and the “All inclusive light” is a joke: the beach bar isn’t included, and at the “hotel bar” you can only get wine, water, or americano coffee. Everything else costs extra. The hotel staff aren’t trained in bartending, so don’t expect cocktails.

For the third year running, I’ve chosen Hotel del Sole for a relaxing holiday, and each time it’s felt more peaceful. The rooms have a breathtaking view and are spotless, and the sea is crystal clear. The staff are friendly, cheerful, and helpful, and the food is delicious. See you soon!
