The best part was Paola herself and her family, who run a place that really feels like the heart of the community. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in a gorgeous spot, simple, tasteful, and comfortable amid the green Umbrian landscape. It's amazing to find somewhere like this just 20 minutes from Perugia and its iconic minimetro. Can't wait to visit again.

We had such a lovely time here, thanks in part to Paola and Enrico, who are wonderful, welcoming, kind hosts. The B&B is dog-friendly and centrally placed for visiting Perugia, Todi, Orvieto, Lake Trasimeno, and Città della Pieve. There's also a magnificent 15km nature trail starting very close by. A truly beautiful place!

If Spina is politics and Assisi is clergy, Mercatello is free! This is the real, authentic, wholesome Umbria, with a lighthearted spirit. Paola, Dario, Enrico, little Zampina, and all the lovely people at the grocery store, bar, and B&B will greet you with a smile. Mercatello is one of the 19 villages in the municipality of Marsciano, and it's a place straight out of a book that someone absolutely has to write.

We loved the simple but tasteful rooms, with exposed beams, terracotta floors, ceramic lamps and fixtures, plants on the windowsill, and a lovely view over the hills. The staff were incredibly friendly as well as professional. When our motorbike had a problem, they even helped us sort it out through a local, free of charge! Downstairs at the bar, we had a delicious continental breakfast, a friendly chat, and local tips on what to visit and where to eat. Highly recommended!

Paola and Enrico are two special people, and we spent a few days in a really welcoming, family-like atmosphere. It's an ideal place to switch off!
