What made this place special was the trulli architetture, the keyless self check-in, a lovely unheated pool, and a private walled courtyard where we did morning yoga. There was lots of good outdoor furniture. The split-level suite Cenco has a glass bedroom floor, though we couldn’t see through it because the lights weren’t working. Several lightbulbs needed replacing, the outside furniture needed cleaning, and the property could use some maintenance, including a handyman to fix the watering hoses and replace the dead flowers in pots. It’s remote, quiet day and night, and free of tourists. Our host sent lots of useful information before we arrived via WhatsApp, including an upgrade. It’s pet friendly and gorgeous, between Alberobello and Martina Franca, though it isn’t in either town. There’s nothing in walking distance, so you MUST have a car. Taxis cost 75 euros each way just to the supermarket, and bikes aren’t practical if you buy food. Shop beforehand, since there was no milk for coffee or tea. There was no bathroom lighting, and faulty wiring sometimes blew the fuses at night. Room tip: bring a flashlight for power outages, shop ahead, have a car, and go with friends.

Aminua is a wonderful base for visiting Apulia, in the Valle d'Itria countryside between Alberobello, known for its UNESCO Heritage stone buildings called Trulli, and Martina Franca, a world famous centre of the Valle d'Itria. The name Aminua means Almond in the local dialet, and was chosen for the almond trees all around. You can enjoy the surrounding nature on paths through terraced gardens, stone arches, and Trulli, as well as around the swimming pool. The recent refurbishment gave Aminua a fresh look and the court was redesigned. Guests can now choose a Suite in Trulli, Junior Suite, Trulli apartment, or 2 Double Bedrooms. Breakfast is a delicious Continental spread of fresh local products, including local diary milk, yogurt, cakes, fresh fruit juice, cured meats, and more. The surrounding landscapes are gorgeous, and the sunset's colours will catch you. Come to Apulia and enjoy nature at Aminua. Tourist different, tourist Apulia enjoying Aminua.

As someone from Puglia, I can say this is a great spot to properly relax, whether you’re under the porticoes or by the beautiful pool. The property is meticulously maintained and feels like home, with a strategic location in the Itria Valley, just a few kilometers from Alberobello, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Ostuni. The people here are the heart of the place, always welcoming and ready to help. Annalisa is a delightful young woman who greets you with a smile and is always available to help or suggest the best options. Enjoy your stay in this wonderful, charming residence!

The pool deserves a special mention, and the location is beautiful and peaceful, making it easy to reach lots of nearby places worth visiting. The welcome and hospitality from Annalisa and Maria were fantastic. Breakfast is thoughtfully chosen and made mostly with genuine local products. It was a great idea to put clear directions along the route from Alberobello to the B&B. I imagine the owner must be a lovely person, if not physically then certainly in spirit, and that matters above all to Wakan Tanka. Maybe we’ll get to meet them on a future stay. I’m an Apache Nomad, and I felt as if I were among my native Monti Dragoons.
