The place that won us over was Masseria Mangiato. Our planner, Leonardo Amando (Instagram @leoamando.wedding), showed us six venues around Alberobello, and this was the first one we visited. We booked it, thankfully, because none of the others had quite the same authentic charm. As a couple from the UK, we wanted somewhere that felt rooted in the region, and this had everything we hoped for: trulli, a lovely chapel, a character-filled barn, and a courtyard lit with fairy lights. The setting’s history adds so much to its character. Dating back to 1557, it’s one of the Valle d’Itria’s most historic farms. There’s a chapel from 1559, a real underground olive mill from its days as a working estate, and 27 authentic trulli. The surrounding countryside gave our wedding day a quiet kind of magic. Luigi, the owner, was wonderful throughout the planning. He was warm, quick to respond, and always happy to answer our questions. His horses, dogs, and cats added to the charm, too. One of the cats joined us in the barn during the speeches, and our guests loved it. We’re so grateful we celebrated our wedding here on 4 October. Masseria Mangiato feels warm, peaceful, and full of history, with rustic elegance. We wholeheartedly recommend it for a relaxed countryside celebration.

This is a wonderful, very authentic place that deserves to be discovered. The host welcomed us warmly and was kind, attentive, and keen to share the area's culture. It was the first farm, built in the 15th century.

We were seven adults and two children, and spent three nights in a beautiful apartment. The antique furniture suited the period farmhouse perfectly, and we also admired the charming chapel. There was everything we needed for breakfast in the fridge, and the location made it easy to explore nearby. Many thanks to the owner for being so helpful and kind.

We’ve eaten here several times in both summer and winter, and the outdoor area is my favorite because it’s so charming. The appetizers, first courses, and second courses have all been outstanding. Staff welcomed us warmly and were professional, always making the customer their priority. It’s a simple restaurant, but everything is carefully done. Highly recommend it for special events.

A walk through the centuries-old oak woodland is a lovely way to relax, and the path leads to a picnic area with everything set up. This is a place where nature and history come together, and a distinctive setting for celebrating an important event. It’s a genuine 16th-century Masseria, with rows of trulli around a grand building, huge caves that once served as stables, and a 16th-century church covered in frescoes. Masseria Mangiato is one of Puglia’s most important places, a classic Masseria immersed in the woods. Credit to the owners for resisting mass commercialization and keeping its authentic character. Whatever brings you here, you’ll leave with your eyes full of beauty.
