Is Solinas beach is close by and popular with locals. It’s comparable to Porto Pino, though the first stretch to the south has posidonia sand; you can instead choose the second beach toward Porto Tolle. This makes a great base for exploring the SULCIS-INGLESIENTE area. Now that our stay is over, my first impressions of cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and room size have held up. The patio is lovely. This B&B has the feel and potential of a farmhouse, though it has only three guest rooms. It sits among fruit trees, vineyards, olive groves, and some exotic ornamental plants, on a property of more than 10 hectares. The owners, a couple from the Veneto region with hotel experience, bought the land and built the residence; part of it is already being developed for tourism. Breakfast is adequate, with savory and other continental choices, including cured meats and cheese, available on request. There are packaged Sardinian sweets, as is customary, as well as homemade desserts by Signora Rita. The farm’s own honey is excellent. There’s a shared refrigerator just outside the room. Mosquito nets let you sleep with the windows and patio door open without needing the air conditioning, which is there along with a TV and the usual room amenities. The bathroom is spacious.

Rita treated us to delicious pastries every day, and the place is clean, comfortable, and surrounded by greenery. B&B La Corte Noa is also well placed for visiting the area’s loveliest beaches. Excellent value for money.

We’ve been coming to Italy for many years, and this was our second visit to Sardinia. We’d give Fattoria Corte Noa five stars for the decor, breakfast, cleanliness, and COVID-19 management. The distancing was handled well given the limited space, and the staff member carefully made sure guests wore masks. But a holiday also means being able to chat with the hosts, and on that front we’d give Mrs. Rita one star. There was no warm greeting, no word when we came back from the beach, and no eye contact at breakfast. Tea and coffee were served without much care, and we got no suggestions for sights or markets. The atmosphere was completely missing for us. It felt clear that guests who don’t speak Italian weren’t welcome. Mrs. Rita’s interactions with foreign guests came across as unprofessional, and we didn’t feel comfortable around her.

It’s a beautiful property, more like a villa than a farmhouse. Everything was carefully kept, indoors and out. Breakfast was excellent, and so was the COVID management: with limited space, social distancing was observed, and the woman in charge made sure guests wore masks. Congratulations.

Nature’s scents and sounds are all around this comfortable, welcoming place. Signora Rita’s desserts at breakfast are sublime, and the sea and everything else are just steps away. Great!
