B&B San Leonardo

There are supermarkets, restaurants and other shops within walking distance, which was handy when we went on foot. The B&B is in a great location and offers good value, with street parking right outside and fast wifi. It was also very clean, quiet and comfortable. Nunzio and his father were kind, helpful and accommodating.

I spent one night there, and it was a nightmare. The room was small, with spider webs all around, and there were tiny insects by the bed. We couldn't sleep because we were afraid of bedbugs, even after spreading four towels across the bed. When we contacted the owner, he spoke arrogantly and told us to shut up and go back to our room. He may call this a fake review, since he seems to give the same reply to every comment. If you don't want a night like that, stay somewhere else.

The older man was polite and nice, but the owner's response to the situation was horrible. The room was so small that two people could barely fit, though the real problem was the insects and tiny spiders on the bed. After the owner showed us the room, we looked quickly and accepted it. Later we noticed webs around the little window just above the bed. When we lifted the blanket, the bed was covered in tiny spiders. I sent the owner a photo and he came over, saying they were only mosquitoes and would leave if I opened the window. He laughed at the photo and dismissed it as a mosquito. When I asked for a refund, he told me to shut up and go back to my room. I said to give me the money back and I'd write good reviews on booking.com. He threatened to report me to booking. This really happened, and his aggressive attitude shocked me. We got no refund, so we spread all our towels on the bed and slept there. I even took a photo of one of them, though there were many crawling around. If you care about your health and don't want to spend all night dealing with insects, stay somewhere else. It was the worst travel experience I've had.

This felt more like a guest house, with very small rooms and the bathroom only on the ground floor. The staff were very personal, breakfast was delicious, and the free bikes were necessary to reach the beach. B&B San Leonardo is also within driving distance of Etna and Taormina.
