Lubra Casa Relax

Damiano and Susana were awesome and so helpful. We stayed with two other families, three couples and five kids altogether, and there was more than enough room for everyone. It's a mansion, with a lovely old-school charm.

You'll need a hire car to reach this place, but it's worth it for a proper escape. With only 6 rooms, it never felt busy, and there were lots of places to relax, including by the pool and on the roof terrace, all with amazing views. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel was great value. And yes, there's a pool too!

The owners were genuinely welcoming and helpful, and gave us good suggestions for restaurants and boat trips nearby. The hotel has charm, as the photos show, though some of those artistic shots give a slightly misleading impression. Finding the place can be difficult, especially at night. We even got lost with GPS, though we weren't far away. There's not much around, so you'll need a car for everything. On our first night the restaurant was closed, and we had to look for somewhere to eat; after spending the day out, we also had to drive to other towns for meals. The Wi-Fi was among the worst I've experienced. There's a notice saying improvement work is underway, but it shouldn't take so long these days. A few smaller things need attention for the hotel to compete with others. At this point, you can find better options.

For 8 days we stayed in the suite at what became our little Castle, with staff who were helpful and friendly every day. Damiano deserves a special thanks for his great tips, ask him before heading off to do things on your own! The view could match expensive 5star Hotels almost anywhere in the world. Breakfast was fresh and tasty each morning, and the place was very clean and quiet, apart from some dogs. But you're well away from crowded, noisy tourist spots. There's also a lovely 7th century church with beautiful old wooden interieur.
