Residence Massa Alta

We came here on our honeymoon while travelling around Italy and Greece, and the room was nothing like the listing on travel sites. The pictures show a large renovated room with a curved ceiling, but ours was so cramped we couldn’t even open our luggage. It was sweltering, around 40 degrees, with no air conditioning and no air coming in through the window. When we complained and asked to cancel, they wouldn’t let us. They brought a fan, but it didn’t change the temperature, and they even switched it off while we were out getting coffee. There wasn’t an iron in the room either. We’ll probably have to take the loss and pay for another hotel nearby. Don’t book here. There are lovely hotels close by with air conditioning and great staff, and my family was lucky to book one of them.

Great value, just two steps from the historic center, and there’s reserved parking. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there’s a room to store bikes, so it works well for cyclists too. Only a shame there are no TVs in the rooms. Otherwise, an excellent place to stay. 😁😁😁

There’s parking for six cars, which is a lot! The only tiny, hardly worth mentioning downside is that breakfast is at a nearby café, but it’s no problem.

We had a great stay at Massa Alta. Our two-room apartment had a double bedroom, two bathrooms with showers, and a living room with an open-plan kitchen, table, and double sofa bed. It was spacious and beautiful, and would suit a couple, a couple with children, or friends travelling together. The residence is very clean, which feels essential these days, and the bright, rustic-style apartments are well maintained. It’s just steps from Massa Marittima’s historic center, close to bars and restaurants, and there’s private parking. From this beautiful town, it’s easy to get to the beach or visit nearby villages.
