B & B Da Ferro

I spent a long time deciding whether to write this, but in the end I felt I should. I booked in February for an April 28 arrival and paid a substantial deposit, more than the requested 30%, because I wanted to be sure of getting the room I had chosen: the yellow room on the first floor, with a kitchen, a view at the back, a sofa, and a bathroom outside the room. Despite several conversations with the host between booking and arrival, she never told me she'd put me in a different room, the lilac one. I had clearly said in both my booking message and bank transfer that I was reserving the yellow room. Instead, she gave it to a man who was staying longer for work, apparently a relative or friend. Why not give him the lilac room? The lilac room felt like a garage converted into a bedroom. It was very cold and damp. Behind the wardrobe was a door opening onto the breakfast room, so we could hear people talking there as well as the man above us making noise late at night and again at 5 while getting ready. The bathroom wasn't even the one in the photos. There were four leftover soaps from previous guests in the shower, and the glass door let the early morning light shine straight onto whoever was sleeping. The room looked onto the restaurant's parking lot across the main road, so we heard those cars too. The kitchenware situation was disturbing, with dishes dirty from old food. There was no dishwasher or place to set dishes after handwashing. I had to ask for hand soap, a dish towel and pillowcases for the extra pillows. The furniture was haphazardly placed, and there was no bedside table on one side of the bed. I also had to ask for garbage bags, which I expected to be provided in a B&B with a kitchen. I was given just one for five days. Reading the other reviews, I wonder if they're written by friends or relatives. Maybe the other rooms are better, but the lilac room really doesn't work. Never again. In reply to the host's response: “WE DIDN'T LIKE EACH OTHER”? I wasn't paying to make friends. I paid for a service and didn't get it. And I repeat that the dishes provided were completely unhygienic, as was the bathroom, on top of the disorder in the “room”.

We stayed here for work and the owner went out of her way to understand what we needed and make it work. She was incredibly kind and helpful. The B&B is in a quiet area, but shops, gas stations, bars and restaurants are nearby, and the main towns and beach resorts of Versilia are easy to reach. Our room was spacious and lovely, with a large bathroom and a comfortable, roomy shower. The bed was extremely comfortable too. The soft blue and white walls and patterned ceiling made for a very pleasant night. Everything was spotless and carefully maintained. Thank you, Ilaria!

We were lucky to find such a charming house, with a large room and a lovely bathroom. The airy style, garden view, mountain backdrop and fresh air all made it a lovely stay. We were welcomed so warmly, and the price was good too. It's a 10-minute drive to the sea. Thank you, Mrs. Ilaria, and your lovely, smiling children. 😍

The owner is delightful and very helpful. We also appreciated the private parking, air conditioning and large bathroom. The B&B is clean, very well maintained and in a handy spot for different excursions.
