You do need a car here: the closest supermarket is 5 km away, and the beach is 10 km away. For us, though, the villa's position was ideal, with a lovely view over Viareggio and the sea. We spent a week at Villa Elena as a group of eight, aged 25-30, and came away very happy. The place was just as shown online, clean, well equipped, spacious, and well maintained, with plenty of bathrooms, room for three cars, and a charging point for electric vehicles. The cleaning staff gave us a warm welcome, and the owner was just as welcoming when we got the keys. She stayed available on WhatsApp all week and shared lots of useful tips and ideas. Handing the keys back on our last evening was easy too. The bedroom doors were a little noisy, which was the one small drawback.

I live next door, just 4 meters from the window of the house being rented, in a hamlet of about ten homes along a 150-meter stretch. The residents are quiet and live here all year, and value peace and quiet. In summer I usually sleep with the window open to get the cool sea breeze, rather than run noisy, expensive air conditioning. That's why I object to the rental rules saying parties and events are permitted. That wording should be removed unless the allowed hours and noise limits for civilized living are made clear. Guests can always be welcome neighbors when they behave appropriately for the place they're staying.

It's a lovely, lovingly furnished house and very well kept, with a great view. The area is peaceful, and there are plenty of good day trips to take by car.
