We can only speak to the camper site and restaurant. The pool looked AMAZING, but it cost 10€ per person and closed at 19u, so there was no time to use it after visiting Matera. The pitch was cheap at 15€ per camper, while the shuttle cost 5€ per person, making it 35€ for our group of four. We decided to move to area Sosta, where we got a SUPERB WELCOME and service, and paid 30€ in total including the shuttle and coffee. The location was much further away than expected. The place was okay, but the bathrooms looked brand new and were unfinished. Of the three showers, one had no lock and two had water that kept running. They weren't clean. The pizza was below average for Italy. Service was fair and correct, but not warm or friendly. Everything was just nearly okay. For someone staying at the hotel, I can imagine the experience might be different. IT is okay, but that's it.

A lovely family farm hotel just outside Matera. It feels authentic, and the quiet setting is great for relaxing with your family. The rooms are cosy and comfortable enough, the staff are friendly, and dinner in the old main room on the farm was amazing. There's a big pool, plus chickens, cats and dogs for the kids to pet. A secret place on the way to go public.

The waiter didn't seem to care at all when we raised our concerns, and the owner ignored our firm but polite complaints. In response, the owner waved the bill at us in a way that felt contemptuous, if not mocking. There wasn't a cent taken off it. The first course came on a dessert plate in a ridiculous portion that was awkward to eat. The supposed grilled lamb was burned, hard to identify, and so tough we couldn't cut or chew it. Our side was just broccoli stalks, the parts we'd normally throw away in our area, with no actual broccoli in sight. Calling this dinner terrible would almost be generous. A terrible experience in every way.
