Massimo, the manager, was so welcoming and helpful, with lots of useful tips during my stay. The guest house was lovely and cute, and I’d gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Matera. I spent three nights at Casa Festa and had only good things to say. My room faced the gorge and was quiet and pleasant. It was spotless and looked even better in person. The nights turned chilly, but the heater worked perfectly.

Anne welcomed us with flowers and fizz in the lovely Maria room, which was just right for the start of our honeymoon. We stayed three days, and the view was great. Matera was incredibly hot, but this was a cool, relaxing place to return to. The breakfast was perfect too. If you're heading to Matera, and you should, stay here.

The suite has thoughtful extras, including the reading nook shown in the picture, and the views are astounding. Soft, luxurious linens and pillows made for a deep sleep. It's a beautiful haven within easy walking distance of everything in town, with very good breakfast and perfect service.
