We stayed here for two separate weeks and really liked the bright, airy apartment. The Sassi are a nice walk away, and plenty of nearby shops are even closer: a bakery, fishmonger, salumeria, bar, fruit shop, and convenience store are all within a two-minute walk. Supermarkets are a short drive. The cooking pots were great and the bathrooms lovely. Thanks, Simone. I’d definitely recommend it for a visit to Matera!

Parking right under the house was handy for us since we came by car, and check-in could be arranged flexibly. Simona was kind and ready to answer questions. The apartment is on the second floor with no elevator, but the stairs didn’t feel like a big deal. It’s spacious and very clean, with two bathrooms, and sits even nearer to the Sassi than to Matera’s center. I’d recommend it to young people and families with kids. If I come back to Matera, I’ll stay here again.

We took a friend’s advice and stayed at Casa Vacanze dei Cappuccini for Easter week. It’s a few minutes on foot from the Sasso Caveoso and still close to Piazza Vittorio Veneto. We’d considered staying right in the center to soak up the Sassi atmosphere, but were put off by reviews mentioning musty smells in some rooms and trouble finding parking nearby. This apartment was spotless and had all the comforts we needed. Simona was kind and helpful, making sure we had everything. Thanks, Simo, see you soon!
